Danny Da Costa has worked in the tennis and racquet industry for nearly 30 years, in a variety of leadership roles. A transformative leader, he brings a wealth of experience in tennis development, coaching, event & facility management, sport-executive leadership, and management.
While serving as Squash Canada’s Executive Director from (2010 – 2015), he orchestrated the organization’s largest growth period in its 100-year history. He revamped the organization across all-areas, while delivering world-class results. Da Costa improved the High-Performance structure, creating a National Centre of Excellence and recruited internationally renowned coaches to significantly enhance national team performances. He played a pivotal role in the rebranding of Squash Canada, revolutionized the officiating structure, and significantly improved the organization’s financial standing. His proven track-record of organizing and hosting world-class sporting events, saw him organize 2014 Women’s World Team Squash Championships and 10 National Championships each year.
From 2011 – 2024, served on the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and served on the COC’s Women in Sport Committee. Upon moving to Calgary, Da Costa served as a Board Member of Sport Calgary from 2017-2019. He also currently serves on Tennis Canada’s Tennis Professional Advisory Committee.
Formerly a Tennis Professional, he led 5 Tennis Canada Tennis Development Centres in his career and served as a Team Ontario, Prairie & Atlantic Touring Coach for over a 10-year period. He has also coached in high profile events such as 2005 Canada Games and the 2002 U12 World Junior Tennis Championships where he led Canada to a 6th place finish. Da Costa has also played an instrumental role in the early development of Canadian tennis player Steven Diez who was ranked as high as #3 in Canada (career high #134 ATP in 2019) and who was a member of Canada’s 2022 Davis Cup and ATP Cup winning teams.
Da Costa has won two Tennis Canada Facility Excellence Awards: White Oaks Resort (2010) and OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre (2017). In 2022, he was bestowed with Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Government of Alberta for his community work in improving the lives of Albertans through sport. He also received Tennis Canada’s Distinguished Service Award in 2022 for his work growing the game of Tennis in Canada. Da Costa is a certified Coach 2 and Club Professional 3 with Tennis Canada and holds a B.A. in Geography from York University.
As the CEO of OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, Danny Da Costa continues to infuse his deep-seated love for sport and extensive leadership experience into fostering a thriving tennis community. Through his leadership, he has built the ATC from a start-up into one of Canada’s leading tennis facilities. He remains an inspiring figure dedicated to the growth, development, and success of the sport he cherishes.
In his downtime, Nick enjoys recreational sports like softball, volleyball, and golf, traveling, playing board games with friends and family, and exploring dog-friendly patios with his wife and dog.
Adam’s commitment to tennis excellence is evident in his coaching and development work. From running high-performance programs to guiding junior players to success on national and international stages, Adam has a wealth of knowledge and experience in nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the sport. Having worked for Tennis Alberta as a provincial coach for many years, he ran provincial camps, traveled with players to nationals as the team coach, and worked as an advisor on provincial committees. In 2019, his commitment to tennis was acknowledged at the ATP Challenger with the Tennis Alberta Coach Recognition Award.
Having completed his Tennis Canada CP 3 qualification earlier this year, Adam is now one of only four coaches in the province to hold both the Coach 3 and CP3 from Tennis Canada. As an integral part of the ATC team, he continues to contribute to the growth and success of tennis in Alberta.
When not on the courts at ATC, Adam can be found out skiing with his family in some fresh powder, or during the summer months cycling trails and enjoying swimming in the lakes of Alberta and BC.
Originally hailing from China, Sila ventured to Canada for her university studies, where she not only mastered the academic landscape but also immersed herself in the diverse world of customer service. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, Sila is more than a valuable asset—she is a bridge, fostering connections and aiding new Canadian families and players in becoming integral parts of our inclusive tennis community. Her commitment to communication is further emphasized by her certification as a community interpreter. Sila’s multifaceted skills and dedication make her an invaluable asset to the vibrant tapestry of the Alberta Tennis Centre.
Beyond the soccer field, Kara has embarked on a diverse professional journey, delving into roles that span marketing, project management, communications, and graphic design. Her expertise has been honed over the past four years in the dynamic marketing landscape of New Zealand. Now back in Canada, Kara is thrilled to contribute to the vibrant world of Calgarian recreation and engagement.
Kara’s enthusiasm stems from her passion for people, creativity, and the overall well-being of individuals. She is excited to be a part of an organization that champions healthy competition, athletic skill, and the spirit of camaraderie.

Since 2012, Calgary has been his home, and within its vibrant community, Luka has honed his customer service skills across diverse sectors such as food and beverage, retail, hotels, and recreation.
Luka’s passion for sports extends beyond the workplace; he actively participates in local Calgary sports teams and generously shares his expertise by coaching youth soccer. With a blend of academic knowledge and practical experience in hospitality and recreation industries, Luka is committed to fostering success and prosperity at the Centre alongside his dedicated colleagues.

Her dedication to the sport extended into her personal life, keeping her engaged and active. Nowadays, she finds solace in hiking and climbing the Canadian Rockies with her husband and their dog, Rosie. Her multifaceted life experiences and commitment to tennis make her an invaluable asset to the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre.
In 2019, his commitment to tennis was acknowledged at the ATP Challenger with the Tennis Alberta Coach Recognition Award. Marc continuously invests in his education, having completed the Instructor, Club Professional, and Coach 2 courses, culminating in his certification as a Coach 3 from Tennis Canada.
Working alongside National Coach Alan Makin in Alberta’s National Junior Training Program, Marc has built a network and cultivated relationships with leaders in other provinces and Tennis Canada. A driving force in designing and developing one of the top programs in western Canada, Marc is dedicated to raising the standard of Canadian tennis. Marc stepped onto the courts of the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre on April 1st, 2022. His coaching contributions span 15 years and has propelled athletes to achieve college scholarships, provincial rankings, national recognition, and international success.
Beyond the tennis courts, Marin finds joy in exploring the world through travel, casting a line during fishing escapades, indulging in various sports, and unleashing culinary creativity in the kitchen. Marin’s diverse experiences and unwavering passion for tennis make him a pivotal figure in the development of high-performance players at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre.

Roberto’s extensive teaching experience and dedication to creating enjoyable and informative lessons have made him a valuable asset to the tennis community. As the Competitive Teen Coordinator & Head Coach at OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, he continues to inspire and nurture the next generation of tennis enthusiasts.
Staying tethered to his love for tennis, Yurii pursued and completed his Master’s Degree in Physical Education Teaching & Coaching, laying a solid foundation for his coaching career. In 2013, he transitioned into coaching, focusing on preparing performance athletes for regional and national competitions. With a versatile approach, Yurii has worked across all ages and levels of play, fueled by a passion for helping performance athletes explore and utilize their full potential.
Yurii’s coaching philosophy centers around empowering his students to set and achieve their goals, fostering a collaborative journey toward becoming better players. Joining the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre in May 2022, Yurii brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the court.

Daniel Henschel was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He started playing tennis at age 8 and was a multi-sport athlete until the age of 14. Daniel believes in a growth mindset; he believes tennis is a game where things continue to change, and thus, he is dedicated to continuing his coach education to better serve his clients and improve professionally. Daniel is also one of the Top open players in Canada.
As a university student, Daniel was a member of the University of Alberta Golden Bears Tennis Team. In his four years at the University of Alberta as a varsity athlete, he led the Golden Bears to a Canadian University Tennis Championship in 2016 and a bronze medal in 2017 – 2019. He represented the Tennis Team on the University of Alberta Athletics Board and captured 20+ Men’s Open Singles and Doubles Titles during this time.
As a coach, Daniel is a certified Club Professional 2 coach, and he is currently enrolled in the Coach 2 certification program. Daniel is passionate about raising the standard of Canadian Tennis and committed to growing as a tennis professional. Daniel has helped his athletes achieve college scholarships, provincial rankings, national recognition, and international success.

At 24 years old, Alec is not just a Tennis Professional but a dynamic individual with a multifaceted personality. Still actively training and competing in open-level tournaments across Canada, Alec brings a fresh perspective to the game. Beyond tennis, he enjoys traveling and cherishing moments with friends and family. Alec is not just a sports enthusiast; he’s a proud Manchester City and Calgary Flames fan. His overarching goal is to foster a positive tennis experience for adults and juniors of all levels at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre.
Born in the Philippines, Pearl Hunt developed a competitive background in table tennis during her formative years, earning a full scholarship to play for the University of the Philippines and achieving a top 8 national ranking. Transitioning seamlessly to the larger court of tennis, Pearl’s dedication saw her quickly excel. She first dove into tennis while working at the ATC Member Services Desk, honing her skills until she earned her Instructor’s Certificate after five years of hard work. Coaching has become a passion for Pearl, allowing her to combine her love for the sport with her knack for connecting with people. Pearl warmly welcomes beginners of all ages, both kids and adults, eager to experience the joy of tennis.

Luis embarked on his journey with OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre right from its inaugural days in May 2016. With a dedicated tennis career spanning 15 years, Luis has blended his love for sports with a love of teaching by serving as a Team Alberta Wheelchair Coach and gaining a certification in Cardio Tennis. Luis’ commitment to fostering a love for tennis is rooted in his personal journey of cultural integration and the joy of making lasting connections through sports.
With a passion for tennis that spans over a decade, Quentin Maille brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre. His academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree in sports sciences with a tennis specialization and a university diploma focusing on optimizing fitness training. Quentin’s coaching career, which began seven years ago, has seen him work with players of all ages, from summer camps to year-round coaching along the French Riviera. Now, as part of the ATC family, Quentin’s passion for tennis finds a vibrant and diverse canvas to continue flourishing.

Although tennis had been a cherished hobby since she stopped competing, it wasn’t until 2022 when Irada stumbled upon the instructors course offered by Tennis Canada that she realized she could transform her love for the sport into a fulfilling profession. Since then, her coaching journey has thrived, and she finds immense satisfaction in witnessing the progress of her students. Balancing the roles of both coach and tennis parent has granted her a unique perspective and has contributed to her development as a nurturing instructor.
Beyond the tennis court, Irada treasures spending quality time with her family. Soccer, hiking, and road trips are among their favorite activities, providing them with opportunities to bond and create lasting memories together.
Oleh’s multifaceted background and dedication to tennis coaching make him an asset to the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre Team. With a commitment to fostering the growth and development of players across all levels, he continues to make a significant impact in the tennis community.
Having begun his tennis journey at the age of 13, Shane's commitment to the sport led him to various levels of competition, from NCAA tennis in the U.S.A to ATP Challenger events across Canada. Beyond the accolades, Shane is not just a Tennis Professional; he holds educational laurels with a BSc in Biopsychology, an MSc in Neuroscience, and an MScPT in Physical Therapy. His multifaceted approach to tennis is a testament to his passion for the game and his dedication to shaping the next generation of tennis enthusiasts.
Bringing over two decades of competitive playing experience and eight years of coaching expertise to the court, Andrew is a dynamic force in the tennis community. His journey began over 22 years ago when he first picked up a racket, instilling in him a profound connection to the game that has endured throughout his life.
In 2018, Andrew Ochotta joined the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, marking the commencement of a new chapter in his tennis career. His impact on the court is complemented by his educational background, holding a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary. Not only is he academically inclined, but Andrew also proudly represented the University of Calgary Dinos Tennis Team as the Head Coach and top player during his university years.
Andrew's current goal is to lead the University of Calgary Dinos Tennis Team to a national title. For him, teaching tennis extends beyond the court; it's a means to enhance the overall quality of life for those he interacts with.
