About Osten & Victor Alberta Tennis Centre

Osten & Victor Alberta Tennis Centre (ATC) is a community-based non-profit in Calgary’s Acadia neighbourhood, celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2026. Since opening, more than 350,000 Calgarians have come through our doors and 67,500 children have learned the game through our school program. Our coaches have earned national recognition from Tennis Canada. We operate 13 courts, a fitness centre, a pro shop, the 40 Love Café, and the Friends of Ron Ghitter Fund for Kids, which removes cost barriers for children who want to play.

Our 2025-2030 strategic plan is built around three pillars: Building the Game (growing our facility and talent), Playing the Game (increasing participation and access), and Staying in the Game (retaining players for life). Our staff speak 20 languages and our facility is fully accessible. Learn more at albertatenniscentre.ca.

About the role

The Marketing Coordinator coordinates ATC’s marketing and communications functions to achieve the 2025-2030 strategic plan goals and objectives. You’ll develop and oversee the execution and implementation of ATC’s marketing campaigns and promotions, and support ATC’s properties, programs, publications, and services to grow revenue.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work collaboratively with the management team and ATC employees to deliver success and superior member and customer experience. This is a 15-month contract role.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual marketing, advertising, and communications calendar
  • Plan, write, and publish content across social, email, web, print, and video
  • Grow our audiences on Instagram, Facebook, and short-form video
  • Produce the annual report, Capital Campaign materials, ATC Scoop newsletter, and major event campaigns
  • Manage the website: content updates, SEO, and GA4 reporting
  • Produce marketing materials for tennis programs, operations, the café, and member services
  • Assess paid advertising opportunities and manage the ad budget
  • Maintain ATC brand consistency across all channels
  • Report on campaign performance and use the insights to improve future work

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a hands-on marketer who is equally comfortable with strategy and execution. You’re a strong writer, you know your way around social platforms, and you’ve run enough campaigns to have your own view on what works.

Required

  • A high school diploma (post-secondary in marketing, communications, PR, journalism, or a related field is a plus)
  • 3 years of marketing and communications experience, ideally in non-profit, sport, or membership-based organizations
  • A track record of owning a marketing calendar across multiple programs and events
  • Grown social audiences on Instagram, Facebook, and short-form video
  • Experience producing an annual report or similar long-form publication
  • Comfort managing website content, SEO, and analytics in a CMS (WordPress or similar)
  • Run segmented email campaigns (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or comparable)
  • Canva proficiency
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada on an ongoing basis for the full 15-month contract term

Preferred

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience shooting and editing short-form video for Reels, TikTok, or Shorts

You’ll thrive in this role if you

  • Work well with broad scope and minimal day-to-day direction
  • Collaborate naturally across teams and departments
  • Care about tennis, sport, or community-based organizations
  • Can flex your schedule for occasional evening or weekend events

What we offer

This is a 15-month contract position. In addition to the salary, you will receive:

  • Sun Life health and dental coverage after 3-month probation, including paramedical, vision, prescription, and dental
  • Disability, life, and AD&D insurance
  • Full ATC membership and facility access for you and your immediate family
  • Free access to the Fitness Centre
  • Staff discounts on ATC lessons, programs, pro shop items, and café purchases
  • Alberta statutory holidays and 2 weeks of vacation
  • A structured 90-day onboarding plan with regular feedback from the CEO

Selection process

If we move forward with your application, expect the following:

  • A short initial screening call about your background and interest in the role
  • A panel interview with the CEO and colleagues you’d work with day-to-day
  • A short work sample: a practical exercise that mirrors the day-to-day
  • Pre-employment checks: Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening (employment is conditional on satisfactory completion)

We’ll ask finalists for professional references and keep you informed throughout.
